Now I'm finally finshed with packing for Globen. The horses are clipped and has got a bath and I've squeezed almost everything into the small lorry I just have a few things left to pack tomorrow. I'm taking Holliday and Arctic and Peder is riding them tomorrow morning and then I'm off all alone to Globen, Peder is flying there on thursday. I really look forward to this show, it is a special atmosphere there. It's also nice that it is near my parents home so they can come and visit me.
Last weekend the horses were warming up in Flyinge and they werw doing well, Holliday was 2nd in a 1,35 and arctic was 3rd in 1,45 and 2nd in the 1,50 Grand Prix so they seem to be in good shape. The other horses that was there was also doing well, Danny was 3rd in a 1,40 Centoo was 7th in the 6-year old final and Agge was also in the jump-off. Sibon was jumping very well but no coloured ribbons for him since Peder is not riding him against the clock yet.
Now I'm going to put my last stuff in the tumble dryer and then I'm going to bed.

Still warm weather
This morning Emelie and Rebecca left for a show in Lidköping with their horses so it's me and new girl Frida left at home. Jenny stopped working here in the end of the summer and about a month ago Frida started so now we'r a full team again!
Malin jumped Baltimore today and he looked really really good, exciting with new horses! We also went for another round in the woods with Actrice and Challe, we hack out at least once a week with all the horses and they all really like it!
In the picture it's Bengan, Uffe and Tore thats enjoying the nice weather, eight degrees today, wonderful! Sara

Show free weekend!
Still no winter in Sweden but I'm the last one to complain! This time last year we had loads off snow, hard to imagine now when the grass is still green (Actrice eating away in the picture). We went hacking out in the woods today with Räven, Cisco and Uffe and they were also happy to be out in the nice weather! This week-end we have no show so some quiet time at home before Globen next week ( there it's everything but quiet!) Sara

Clipping, clipping and some more clipping
This week we clipped almost all the horses again. They were really hairy and this time a year you can nearly see the hair growing! A really good tip when clipping a horse that doesnt like the sound is to use a padded flyhat ( in the picture Rebecca and Olle). I bought mine at a tackshop for trotters and its been working really well!
We had a good show in Sodertalje, all horses were jumping really good so it was fun to watch! Baltimore was already behaving better than last week, still crazy but at least its going in the right direction! Sara

Random pictures!
Finally managed to publish pics from my phone so here you go! From above: My stables in Madrid. Tore in s' Hertogenbosh. Lucas and best friend Pilou taking a nap in Lyon. Rolf in Oslo ( fancydress!). Warmup in Paris, impressive! Truckers dinner, not that impressive! Räven checking out his neighbour and last golden groom Celia in Madrid.
On the road
Rebecca recently took her lorrylicense so now I don't have to drive all the time. Very nice to sit in the passengers seat for once! This morning we got up early and had the horses on the walker and I lunged Bengan for a bit. Now we are on the way to the show in Södertälje so we hope for a good day and not to crazy horses! Sara

On to the next show
I've had a quiet week at home. My sister came to visit for a couple of days and we had a nice time with a lot of shopping and food! Nice to be a bit "normal" for once!
Tomorrow we are going to a show in Södertälje with Uffe, Olle, Dunder, Ture and Bengan so today we gave them all a bath and I clipped Dunder so now they are ready to go! The weather is getting colder now and you can feel that the winter is comming, not nice. Luckily I'm going to be away most of December!
Now I'm gonna pack my own stuff for the show (easy when it's only two days!) and then it's off to bed, early morning tomorrow. Sara

Hickstead
It's nice to be back home again, and after a couple of days off ( that I spent sleeping!) I'm back on track again! Yeasterday we went to a show in Linköping with Dunder, Olle, Turmalin and new horse Baltimore. All horses jumped clear and did nice rounds!
We got Baltimore (nicknamed Bengan) a couple of weeks ago, he's a seven year old stallion by Balou du Rouet. At home he has been behaving perfectly but we were told that he could be a bit of a monster at the show. He was a little bit freaky but he is more overexcited then mean so I think he is gonna be fine after a couple of shows!
On my way home I got the terrible news about Hickstead passing away at the show in Verona. I can't even imagine how it must feel for Eric and his groom Delfine. As someone wrote; we all lost a true superstar, they lost their best friend, so very sad. He is a true legend and one of these horses that everyone will remember. Sara

Lyon
Left home late monday night with Tore, Raven, Peders two horses and a lot of packing on the lorry. It makes a big difference to bring stuff for two riders but we managed to get it all in with not a centimeter to spare! After stops in Puttgarden and Liege we finally arrived at the show at one o'clock on wednesday evening. Unloaded everything and got myself organised in the stables and then went to bed for a couple of hours, even though we were two drivers it was a long drive from Helsinki so both me and Malin were exhausted to say the least.
In the morning I took Raven for a little ride, he was a bit tired after all the traveling so I didn't do to much, a bit of trotting around and then a walk outside in the sun! Took Tornesch for a spin on the lunge and he was not tired at all bucking around and he seemed very happy to be back at a show!
Then we went for a nice lunch, the food is really nice here and then I managed to take a quick nap before vet check. Malin came later in the afternoon to ride the warm up on Tore, he jumped good and looked relaxed so all good so far. Finished off both horses and then went straight to bed, finally a full nights sleep after god knows how many days without! Woke up the next day feeling like a new person (almost!), first class with Raven at nine and he was early to go so only took him for a walk before getting him ready. He jumped really nice and wasn't tired at all today! Tores class wasn't until later in the evening so Malin rode him for a bit and then there was plenty of time for lunch and a walk in the nice weather with both horses. Lyon is one of the nicest indoor shows with plenty of space in the stables and two warm up rings wich means no riding at six in the morning!
Tores class was the qualifyer for the World Cup, it was a speed and Malin did a sharp right turn to fence number three and he didn't really se it ( with his half blind eye) and ran past it, after that he got a bit stressed and knocked down two fences but he was still jumping good so no big disaster.
Saturday morning was quiet, Malin rode them both before the GP and I had time for a long breakfast! Raven jumped super once again and ended up in third place, he is really in great form now! And he seemed very happy with himself bucking around in the prizegiving! Tore had a day off today so I was finished early in the stables, nice!
On Sunday it was time for the World cup, Tore started as number six and jumped super but had a stupid timefault, a pity when he was jumping so good. There where only nine clears so Malin ended up tenth, so we at least got some points. Now I'm on my way back home again, can't wait to get back after three weeks on the road! Sara
